Why drumming is so good for you
Drumming makes you feel great. By finding your groove you feel more complete or whole and much more relaxed. You also start to feel the connection to others. You feel life in the natural and organic way that you’re supposed to. By feeling good you start to attract more of that into your life, through people and experiences. And because you are feeling good you live with less resistance. And with less resistance life starts to flow a little easier. Read on…
It makes you feel great
Drumming is a natural and organic way to feel good. When you find your rhythm, it effects the way you interact you’re your world. Drumming is a powerful form of yoga.
Drumming is a great way to release stress. As the sounds of the drum vibrate through your body your muscles and your mind get a sound massage, leaving you in a state of relaxation. After only 15 minutes of drumming your mind will start to quieten and your body will start to feel release. Drumming helps to synchronise your bodys’ natural rhythms like your heart beat so that you feel as one, connected and peaceful.
Drumming is meditation. When you naturally start to connect your breath to the rhythm of your drumming you start to synchronise with the rhythms of your body and your world and you start to feel the meditative benefits of drumming. You become aware of your connection to everything and everybody around you. You are reminded that you are not separate or disconnected from everyone. In this meditative state you develop a conciousness that helps you understand life so that you can live it more fully. In this state of less resistance you allow more peace, wisdom and relief into your life experience.
Whether a relaxing groove or a high-energy rhythm, drumming serves to boost your energy levels. You’ll feel much more alive but relaxed, in touch and a general sense of wellbeing. With the connection between your mind, body and spirit in alignment you’ll naturally enhance your physical and mental wellbeing and live life with a little more soul.
Drumming is fun. You’ll feel like the child in you has woken up and is starting to play. You’ll notice that you smile and laugh more often and not feel so uptight. Drumming lets you relax so that you can enjoy yourself as you know you can.
To drum with other people is like meeting them on a whole new level. When you start speaking “rhythm”, the mother tongue, you realise that you can relate to anyone. You can drum with absolutely any person and say more in an hour of drumming than you could with a lifetime of words. The language of rhythm connects us all. Rhythm is the mother tongue.
When you find your groove and find out how unique you are, you realise that there is no “trying to be like” anyone, you just have to be yourself. What a relief! Overtime you’ll become less self-conscious and continually tap-in to your natural birth right of confidence. Or if you’re already feeling pretty good about yourself, you just enhance that state of being.
Being in rhythm
When you find your groove you feel amazing. Why? Because it’s your groove. It’s yours and yours alone. It’s as unique as you are, just like the way you look or the sound of your voice. The sound of your drum is your sound. Not only that, you get to meet other people through your groove and you then start to communicate on a whole new level. You can have an hour-long conversation on your drum with one or more people that’s says more than a lifetime of words. Rhythm is the mother tongue. Everyone speaks and understands it. So…you can talk with anyone.
